A Gift of Color and Talent

We are thrilled to unveil a stunning new mural adorning the walls of our music wing. The masterpiece was envisioned and hand-painted by our very own Mrs. Nellie van Solms, one of our dedicated Grade 2 educators.
While Nellie spends her days shaping the minds of our foundation phase learners, she is also a gifted artist. In a beautiful display of cross-disciplinary collaboration, she volunteered her time and talent to create a visual representation of what makes our school so special: the intertwining of nature, art, and music.
The mural features a whimsical musical staff where notes dance among bright, blooming flowers and greenery, turning a plain exterior wall into an invitation to create.
The Faces of LGAA Music
The mural was recently celebrated by the team who brings these painted notes to life. Pictured in front of the new artwork are (from left to right): Mrs. Marilena Jordaan, Mrs. Nellie van Solms (the artist), Mrs. Karen Vorster, and Mrs. Mariette Pitout.

Our three music specialists—Mrs. Jordaan, Mrs. Vorster, and Mrs. Pitout—work tirelessly to ensure that the sounds of excellence echo through our halls. This mural serves as a tribute to their dedication and a welcoming sight for the many students who enter these doors for their daily lessons.
A Legacy of Musical Excellence
At Lady Grey Arts Academy, music is more than just an extracurricular activity; it is a vital part of our identity. We are proud to offer music as a formal subject, providing our students with a rigorous and rewarding artistic education.
Beyond the classroom, we offer specialized individual lessons across a wide array of disciplines. Our world-class instructors provide training in:
- Keyboard & Woodwinds: Piano, Recorder, Flute, Clarinet, and Saxophone.
- Brass: Trumpet and Trombone.

- Voice: Individual Singing lessons.
Whether a student is picking up a recorder for the first time or preparing for a senior violin recital, our department is committed to fostering a lifelong love of performance.
A Heartfelt Thank You
