A few years ago, Karen Vorster reached out to us with a request.
She wanted to produce a musical at Lady Grey Arts Academy, a small rural school in South Africa, but they had no funding.
The population of the village of Lady Grey is 7,000 and the average annual household income is ~$2,000 USD.
We decided to sponsor the production by providing them with a Production Kit free of charge. Since then, we’ve sponsored three additional productions, and Karen and her team have built an incredible program, bringing the magic of musical theatre to hundreds of kids.
The photo above shows the cast of Giants in the Sky after their performance last week.
We wanted to share this story with you because when you purchase a show from Beat by Beat, you’re not just buying a script—you’re supporting a global community of musical theatre programs.
We never let cost be a barrier for schools that want to put on a Beat by Beat musical, especially for educators who are starting a program from scratch or working in areas with limited resources.
If your organization needs financial assistance, or if you know of one that does, just send us an email and tell us about your situation. We’re here to help!
All the best,
Denver Casado
