Expert Mentorship Leads to National Recognition for Dramatic Arts Student

The Dramatic Arts Department at The Lady Grey Arts Academy continues to foster industry-ready talent, as exemplified by the recent success of learner Phiwe Kobeni. Under the expert guidance of educator Mr. Bunch Sekhobo, Phiwe earned a coveted spot at Avijozi, a premier arts showcase, through the Arts and Culture Trust’s scholarship programme.

The event offered an immersive professional experience, connecting young artists with established leaders in the field. A key highlight for Phiwe was a masterclass with acclaimed actress Zikhona Sodlaka, where she had the rare opportunity to perform and receive direct feedback from one of the industry’s best. The workshops provided practical insight into honing one’s craft and navigating the professional landscape of the performing arts.

This achievement is a direct reflection of the high-caliber training and dedicated mentorship provided at The Lady Grey Arts Academy. Mr. Sekhobo’s role in nurturing Phiwe’s talent was pivotal to her success on this national stage.

We are immensely proud to see our learners excel and take advantage of such significant growth opportunities, proving that commitment and quality education create a powerful foundation for a future in the arts.
