Let’s hear it for our brand new chess team! They recently dove headfirst into their very first competition—the Battleboards Chess Championships, an awesome online event hosted by Alex Forbes.
Chess is still a new and growing sport at our school, so taking on a big tournament like this was a bold and brilliant move! It was the perfect opportunity for our players to gain some fantastic competitive experience, put their strategic skills to the ultimate test, and see how they stack up against other players. Every match was a lesson, and every move made them stronger.
We are SO incredibly proud of this team for having the courage to step up to the board and represent our school. They played with incredible heart and determination, and their enthusiasm was contagious! 👏
A special shout-out to our team captain, Katleho Stoffel, who couldn’t be there but was definitely with them in spirit! We missed you, Katleho!
